Hi, I'm Alexander

I’m currently working as a Senior Security Engineer for B. Braun SE, one of the world’s leading medical technology companies – where I’m part of the Group Product Security Office. I’m a subject matter expert for B. Braun’s global Research & Development departments. I enable, guide, and support them to design and implement security architectures and solutions for our medical devices and cloud health solutions. To this end, I spearhead the development of the global B. Braun Product PKI, which enables:

  • the issuance of cryptographically secure identities for our medical products and digital health solutions
  • as well as securing our software artifacts and confidential telemetry data.

I’m also involved in the Certificate Infrastructure and Security working group, which is focused on defining standards and guidelines to secure the manufacturer-independent medical device-to-device SDC communication based on IEEE 11073.

Besides that, I’ve been freelancing as a consultant and engineer in the field of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EV) since several years. I contributed significantly to the designing and implementation of charging infrastructure (EVSE) by implementing and integrating OCPP and other embedded I2C protocols. My recent work features the development of an embedded OCPP Edge Proxy as well as concepts around V2X use cases to holistically integrate EV, EVSE and CPMS into smart grids based on Smart Meter Gateway and bidirectional power transfer using ISO 15118-20.
